Reports published abroad that the Jewish Agency has decided to restrict the immigration of Jews to Israel are “unfounded,” Davar, organ of the majority Mapai labor party reported today. The paper emphasized that the Jewish Agency has not and will not decide to restrict free Jewish immigration.

The Jewish Agency, the paper says, has drafted its budget on the estimate that the number of immigrants needing its support will reach 150,000. This estimate is based on reports received from various immigration centers abroad, Davar reports.
