German Courts Imprison Gestapo Officers for Mistreatments of Jews During Hitler Era

German courts have imprisoned two former Gestapo officers for various crimes against Jews during the Nazi regime, it was reported here today.

In Dortmund the court sentenced Erich Schott to six years for having black-nailed and mistreated Jews. Hermann Kuehn, former Gestapo chief of Lunsburg, received a four-year sentence following his conviction on charges of mistreating Jews and political prisoners.

Kurt Schumacher, leader of the West German Social Democratic Party, today announced that his group has submitted draft legislation benning neo-fascist activities in the parliament at Bonn.

He said the Legislation would be aimed particularly at persons who practiced racial discrimination, and would carry a penalty of life imprisonment. He charged right-wing parties with planning a new dictatorship in Germany.
