Ill and Infirm Dp’s to Leave British Zone of Germany for Israel Next Month

The first transport of “hard core cases” — Jewish DP’S who are ill or infirm–will leave the Brithish zone of Germany for Israel by air during the first week of March, it was announced here today by the Jewish Committee for Relief Abroad.

German boards in the British zone which were established to rule on claims for compensation to persons imprisoned by the Nazis on racial, religious or political grounds are now processing applications, the Committee reported, Jewish relief groups in the zone have been active in providing proof of detention, perticularly of wictims who subsequently fled Germany. The same organiztions have been active in obtaining pensions for persecutees and resettlement grants for Jews who have returned to Germany from nations of refuge, the report said.
