Successful conclusion of the Anglo-Israel Sterling talks was announced here today in a joint communique issued by the British Treasury and the Israel delegation to the financial talks.

According to the pact, Israel will be able to draw a maximum of 13,000,000 pounds ($36,400,000) from her frozen balances here and will also be able to transfer an additional 2,250,000 pounds ($6,300,000) which non-profit groups aiding Israel may remit to the Jewish state. The joint communique states that the releases cover the period to the end of 1950. Three million pounds will first be released from frozen accounts, then another 4,000,000 pounds will be released as a “working balance.”
