The second part of the Anglo-Israel financial talks are drawing to a conclusion here, it was learned today. However, study of various documents and the drafting of certain provisions which have been proposed are holding up the final conclusion of the talks, which were slated to end this week.
Meanwhile, it was learned here that no major hitch has occurred in the Anglo-Israel financial conversations and that David Horowitz, director-general of the Israel Finance Ministry, will not leave on a scheduled trip for the U.S. before all the complex questions relating to assets and liabilities arising out of the termination of the British mandate over Palestine are cleared up. It is generally believed that the second part of the talks will be concluded some time next week.
Talks between Israel officials and British commercial firms are continuing. A reception for Israel Minister to Britain, Dr. Mordecai Eliash, and Mr. Horowitz, will be tendered at the Savoy Hotel by Lord Wimborne, chairman of Harris and Dixon, a shipping firm, and by directors of the company.
