The executive committee of the Union of Swiss Jewish Commities has called on the Swiss Government to make a “last minute arrangement” to change its plans to hand over the property of heirless Polish Jewish refugees who fled Hitler to the Polish Government.

The executive expressed satisfaction that the Swiss press had criticized the agreement, which is one of the conditions of a Swiss-Polish trade pact. In a message to the Swiss Federal Council and to all Cantonal Councils, the Union declared that there is no legal principle which would have forced the government to hand over this property to Poland.
