Hearings conducted here for over two weeks by the Federal Communications Commission on applications for license renewals by G.A. Richards–owner of radio stations in Los Angeles, Detroit and Cleveland who has been charged with ordering news broadcasts slanted in an anti-Semitic fashion–were temporarily adjourned this week-end.
The American Jewish Congress and the Hollywood Radio Writers Club are seeking revocation of Richards’ licenses. According to Fred Johnson, trial examiner, the hearings will be resumed in September. During the past two weeks 23 witnesses were called to testify.
