Samuel Markell was elected president of the Combined Jewish Appeal of Greater Boston. He succeeds Herman Gilman who hold the post for two years. The C.J.A. is the major fund-raising organization for the United Jewish Appeal, the local Associated Jewish Philanthropies and national and overseas agencies.
