A spokesman for the State Department today indicated that there is no truth in reports circulated here that the U.S. Government has rejected Israel’s request for a special list of munitions. The list was submitted several weeks ago by Ambassador Eliahu Elath.

The spokesman emphasized that the request was still under consideration. Secretary of State Dean Acheson said recently that the arms embargo has been lifted for Israel and the Arab states, but that only arms of a self-defense character will be cleared for export.
