James Chuter Ede, Home Secretary, today announced in Commons that police measures have been taken to prevent Sir Oswald Mosley and his fascist Union Movement from holding a parade through the East End of London this Sunday.

Originally, Mosley announced that he would lead such a parade this Sunday, a week after a ban on political processions in London was scheduled to be lifted. However, the ban was extended until July 2, and Mosley announced that he would not march but would address an open air meeting of his party in the heart of the district, which is heavily populated with Jews.
