The American Bowling Congress this week-end voted to erase from its books a 34-year-old rule limiting membership to white males. Earlier, major Jewish national organizations affiliated with the National Community Relations Advisory Council addressed an appeal to the bowling congress asking for the elimination of the ban. The signatories of the appeal included the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Jewish Labor Committee, Jewish War Veterans and the National Community Relations Advisory Council.
