Anti-fascists forced the closing of a public meeting featuring a speech by one of Sir Oswald Mosley’s chief lieutenants, Geoffrey Hamm.
After the anti-fascists gathered in front of the speakers’ stand–set up in the center of the city–and protested Hamm’s appearance, the police banned the meeting. Hamm is an organizer and leader of the so-called British Legion of Ex-Service-men, which has distinguished itself in the field of Jew-baiting.
