JERUSALEM (Jun. 19)
The 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Keren Hayesod was marked here today, with most of Israel’s newspapers paying tribute to the institution.
The Keren Hayesod, it was noted by the press, today spends millions of dollars annually on immigration assistance, vocational training for newcomers, agricultural colonization, urban settlement, trade and industry programs, as well as education, health and social services. The fund supplied initial capital for such enterprises as the Palestine Electric Corporation, Palestine Potash Company, Tel Aviv harbor, Haifa Bay harbor and General Mortagage Bank.
