Israel’s recent proposals for the internationalization of the Holy Places were hailed as “interesting recommendations” by Lester B. Pearson, Canada’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, who addressed a local political gathering.

The Arab attitude on the Jerusalem issue was branded “unrealistic” by the Montreal Star, in commenting editorially on the recent Iraq declaration before the U.N. Trusteeship Council. The statement, says the Star, would have come with greater force had it been made before the Arab League fell apart.
