Jewish Consumptive Relief Society Dispute Nears End; Dr. Miller’s Resignation Announced

The resignation of Dr. Lewis I. Miller as secretary of the Jewish Consumptive Relief Society here was announced today by Henry J. Schwartz, acting president of the Society. The announcement expressed confidence that differences among supporters of the institution “will soon be ironed out to their mutual satisfaction” and that the sanatorium maintained by the Society “will continue its free non-sectarian work of healing the sick.”

Mr. Schwartz said that there is every indication that the existing controversies involving the J.C.R.S. will be amicably settled by all groups throughout the country who are interested in the organization. “We have reliable information that litigation in New York involving the institution will be speedily terminated,” he declared, adding that the New York Advisory Board of the J.C.R.S. is now willing to resume its fund-raising activities.
