Although it is at present difficult to formulate exactly principles harmonizing loyalty to the countries where Jews live with all-out political, social and economic support of Israel, the task will become much easier after a formal peace is concluded in the Middle East, B. Lieberman, chairman of today’s session of the conference of Jews from the British Commonwealth countries, told the delegates.

He urged the Jewish communities in the Commonwealth countries to influence the opinions of their nations on issues before the United Nations which will vitally affect Israel. Mr. Lieberman’s speech, which was recorded for broadcast to the Middle East, stressed the interests of Britain and the Commonwealth nations in the Middle East.

S. Kuper, South African Jewish leader, declared that political work must be conducted independently in each country, stressing South Africa’s unbroken record of support of Zionism. Messages to the parley from Dr. Nahum Goldmann, head of the American section of the Jewish Agency, and Berl Locker, head of the Agency executive in Jerusalem, urged a supreme effort to raise money to maintain mass immigration into Israel.
