A group of 1,375 Jewish immigrants from Rumania landed here this morning. They arrived on the Rumanian ship Transylvania, and include a large number of aged persons.

This is the second transport of immigrants from Rumania selected by Rumanian authorities without the participation of a representative of the Jewish Agency or of the Israel Consulate in Ducharest. Under the existing agreement between Rumania and Israel, the selection of immigrants must be conducted jointly by Rumanian authorities and Israel representatives.
