Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, one of the founders of the Joint Distribution Committee in 1914 and long active in numerous Jewish philanthropic causes died early today in Jerusalem, where he was born 60 years ago, it was reported today by the Federated Council of Palestine Institutions, with which he was associated.
Ordained by the late Chief Rabbi A.I. Kook, Rabbi Teitelbaum in 1918 was named a member of the Near East Relief Commission investigating distress conditions under the leadership of Herbert Hoover. He was active in the Mizrachi organization and the Keren Hayesod and was a member of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada.
