The Foreign Ministry last night announced the appointment of Yosef Nevo as Israel consul in New York, effective September 1. Mr. Nevo, who was born in the United States and taken to Palestine by his parents while an infant, commanded a battalion during the Jerusalem siege and later became army chief of operations in the city.
