A protest against the appointment of Walter Bertram, a former leading Nazi, as Minister-President of the Province of Schleswig-Holstein, in the British zone of Germany, was issued here today by the European office of the American Jewish Committee. The protest was also directed against the appointment of Hans Asbach, former Nazi military governor of the Ukraine, as Minister of Social Affairs in the same provincial government.
