Frank Goldman, president of B’nai B’rith, today urged the American Bar Association, now holding its 73rd annual meeting in Washington, D.C., to reconsider its objections to ratification of the U.N. Genocide Convention.
Describing the A.B.A., which a year ago passed a resolution against endorsing the Genocide Convention in its present form, as “one of America’s foremost public opinion moulding institutions,” Mr. Goldman cited the approval given the Convention by the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee. In a telegram to Harold J. Gallagher, A.B.A. president, Mr. Goldman said: “Failure on the part of out government to ratify the Genocide Convention for any reason will make us more vulnerable to Communist attack in the United Nations.”
