The Jewish National Fund has reached the goal of 2,000,000 dunams of land as it enters its fiftieth year of land redemption. Attainment of this goal was announced last night at the eighth Kol Haadama, (Voice of the Soil), held as the Fund entered its jubilee year. The assembly was addressed by Dr. Abraham Granott, head of the Fund; Eliezer Kaplan, Israel Finance Minister, and Levi Eshkol, treasurer of the Jewish Agency.

Messages were received from President Chaim Weizmann, Premier David Ben Gurion and others, praising “the wonders in the field of land development” and calling for “incessant, continued efforts.” The assembly adopted resolutions calling on the Jews of Israel and throughout the world to help shoulder the burden of redeeming land for agricultural development and the settlement of thousands of families.
