The hope that the “United Nations will go from strength to strength in safeguarding the peace of the world and in fostering the brotherhood of man” was expressed in a message received today by U.N. Secretary Trygve Lie from Moshe Sharett, Israel Foreign Minister, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the world organization.

Meanwhile, it was reported here that U.N. Day was observed in Israel yesterday by the shipment of the first consignment of three tons of penicillin and other vaccines to Korea as the Jewish state’s contribution to U.N. forces fighting there.

The Acting Foreign Minister of Iraq, Shakir Fasha Alwadi, said in a U.N. Day message received here that “Nazism is reborn on the shores of the Holy land” and that although the Arabs are glad the U.N. has been victorious in Korea, they “clamor for justice to their brethren in Palestine–victims of Zionist premeditated aggression.”
