Three leading Italian Universities–Venice, Padua and Rome–have agreed to institute Hebrew-language courses, following a request to this effect received from the Union of Italian Jewish Communities. The Union pointed out that cultural relations between Italy and Israel will be furthered by the study of Hebrew on Italian campuses.
Meanwhile, it was announced here that the first Italian language grammar and conversation manual ever to be published in Hebrew has appeared here. Several hundred copies of the volume will be sent to Israel. The author of the work is Professor Nicola Herdelyi.
