Israel representative Dr. Alfred Bonne told the U.N. Economic and Financial Committee today that the problem of employment of large numbers of newcomers in Israel was being solved, because the problem was being met as a human problem and not merely as an economic one.
Pointing out that providing work for a population which had increased by an average rate of 25 percent annually was a task for which no economic textbooks nor experiences elsewhere offered a solution, Dr. Bonne said that nevertheless “there is a sense of confidence in Israel that the goal of integrating hundreds of thousands of newcomers will be achieved.”
