The Washington branch of the Jewish Peoples Fraternal Order, listed by Attorney General J. Howard McGrath as a Communist organization, has been expelled from the Jewish Community Council of Greater Washington by a vote of the Council’s Delegate Assembly, it was announced here today.

It was charged that the J.P.F.O. “was admitted to membership in the J.C.C.G.W. on the basis of misrepresentation of facts concerning the J.P.F.O.’s alleged severance from the International Workers Order except for certain features, to wit, insurance benefits.” The Assembly voted to expel the J.P.F.O. on this charge after a special committee investigated, conducted hearings, and reported to the executive committee which recommended the expulsion.
