Refusal by the Motion Picture Association of America to approve the movie, “Oliver Twist,” evoked a protest today by the National Council of Freedom from Censorship, an affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union.

The Council requested the Association to hold a hearing on its ban. Objection to the showing of “Oliver Twist” in the United States has been voiced by Jewish groups because of anti-Semitic overtones in the picture.
