Israel-jordan Survey Commission Fails to Agree on Boundary Line of Elath Road

The joint survey team sent out to establish the Israel-Jordan demarcation line on the Eilath road in the southern desert–scene of a recent clash between Israel and Jordan forces–has so far been unable to agree even on the terms of reference of the team, it was learned today.

The team includes Israel and Jordanian technicians, accompanied by United Nations military observers. In two meetings to date, near the scene of the clash, the surveyors have been unable to agree on the accuracy of the maps on which the boundary line is drawn.
