The Israel consulate in Vienna and the Austrian authorities are negotiating for the payment of pensions due from the Austrian Government and private firms to Austrian citizens who fled the country after the Anschluss with Germany in 1938 and are now residing in Israel. Israel Consul Arieh Eshel, who revealed the status of the negotiations, said that they are being conducted in a “friendly spirit” and are likely to produce positive results.
