First Latin American Reform Temple Joins Union of American Hebrew Congregations

Rabbi Maurice N. Eisendrath, President of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, announced the affiliation with the Union of the first Liberal Jewish congregation in Latin America. Although three other affiliated congregations are located outside the territorial limits of the United States, Temple Beth Israel, of Havana, Cuba, is the first congregation in Latin America to Join the national body of Liberal Judaism in the United States. The other three are all in Canada.
