Chairman Emanuel Celler of the House Judiciary Committee has asked Secretary of State Dean Acheson to cut off financial aid to Iraq because of the barbarism against Jews in that country.
Rep. Cellar pointed out that the U.S. Export-Import Bank has allocated credits to Iraq in the amount of $12,000,000 and suggested that, if this credit has not been completely drawn, any balance should be cancelled. He said the annulment of the anti-Jewish decrees should be the prerequisite for the resumption of American financial aid to Iraq.
