The opposition of Jewry throughout the world to the rearmament of the German people “is based not only on the tragic experience of the last war but on the century-old experience of German psychology with its intolerance and nationalistic feeling and the propensity of the German people to fall under the spell of a militaristic leadership,” the Marchioness of Reading told a press conference today.

Lady Reading, who is president of the British section of the World Jewish Congress, expressed concern over the fate of Jews in the Middle East. She also expressed conviction that Britain and the United States would maintain close harmony of their relations despite occasional differences.
