A six-point program for the Mapai Party to push during the next four years was presented at a party conference here by Premier David Ben Gurion.

The main point of the program is the achievement within four years of a Jewish population of 2,000,000. In addition, 560 more rural settlements must be established to bring the total to 1,000, and the rural population increased by settling another 50,000 families on the land.

The program also calls for the construction of 200,000 housing units for immigrants and 60,000 units for veterans and others — all in the next four years. The Premier revealed that cheaper housing projects are being planned for construction on state-owned land and that savings deposits will be protected by linking the Israeli financial system to a dollar base.
