Israel Considers Granting Retroactive Citizenship to All Jews Annihilated by Nazis

Premier David Ben Gurion today asked the parliamentary committee dealing with internal affairs not to take any decision on a proposal recommending that Israel should grant retroactive citizenship to the 6,000,000 Jews annihilated by the Nazis. The Premier informed the committee that the Israel Cabinet is now discussing the matter.

The Jewish Agency here indicated that Israel is expecting a flood of Jewish immigration from Iran where the growth of nationalistic feelings among the population is provoking alarm among the 100,000 Jews in the country. A Jewish Agency spokesman estimated that 70,000 Jews would be ready to leave Iran for Israel if they were only given the opportunity to do so.

The immigration of Jews from Rumania into Israel is continuing unabated despite the strong propaganda conducted by the Jewish Communist press in Bucharest against the Jewish State. The Rumanian steamer “Transylvania” arrived in Haifa today with 1,200 Jews from all parts of Rumania.
