American Negro Presents a $10,000 Check of Damon Runyon Cancer Fund to Israel

A Damon Runyon Cancer Fund check for $10,000 for the Hebrew University Medical School and Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, was presented here by Sugar Ray Robinson, American Negro world’s middleweight boxing champion, to a representative of the British Friends of the Hebrew University. The presentation was made at a dinner at Windsor given by Jack Solomons, British fight promoter. Other checks were presented to cancer research foundations in England, Ireland, Scotland and Norway.
