Two Israel warships, the Misgav and the Haganah, returned to their home port this week-end after a 14,000 mile goodwill and training tour in United States waters. The two vessels were greeted by the Chief of Staff and by Minister of Transportation Dov Joseph. Premier David Ben Gurion sent a message welcoming the ships and crews and expressing regret that he was unable to be present at their welcome.
Israeli air and naval units met the two ships as they entered Israeli waters and provided a guard of honor as they moved into the part. Army units saluted the ships and paraded.
