Y. Zerubavel, head of the Jewish Agency’s Middle East department, told a press conference here that the World Zionist Organization must give much attention to the “precarious position of the Jews in North Africa and the Middle East” and map plans for their transfer to Israel. Mr. Zerubaval, a Mapam leader, revealed that since the establishment of the Jewish state, 310,000 Jews from North Africa and the Middle East proceeded to Israel as compared with 276,000 who came from all other countries.
