Dr. Edgar F. Berman, an American Jewish surgeon, has been invited by Yugoslav Marshal Tito’s personal physician to lecture before doctors of University Hospital, in Belgrade, on his invention of a “plastic esophagus” which is used to replace an injured portion of a normal human gullet.

Dr. Berman, who is associated with Sinai Hospital here, is leaving for Europe this month. En route to Yugoslavia, he will stop off at London where he is invited to lecture at Guy Hospital. The successful use of the “plastic esophagus” has brought Dr. Dr. Berman nation-wide attention.
