Special Security Measures in Force in Aden to Protect Jews

Special security measures have been taken by the local authorities in Aden to prevent Moslem anti-Jewish disturbances there, the British Colonial Office disclosed today, Tension had arisen in the colony following the elopement of a young Jewish girl to the home of a Moslem youth. A report from the Governor of Aden to the Colonial Office today stated that the authorities had brought the girl home to her mother but that she had refused to stay there, Brought to the home of Dr. Cochrane, head of Aden’s medical services, she again ran away to the young Moslem’s home. A further report has been asked of the governor, the Colonial Office said. It expressed confidence that the Aden authorities “will continue to exercise vigilance in safeguarding the security of the Jewish community.”
