Israeli Reaches Agreement with Lutherans over Church Property

The Government of Israel and the Lutheran World Federation signed an agreement here which presides for the restitution of some of the Lutheran Church properties to the Federation for purposes of worship, and for fair compensation for such properties as are not used for purposes of worship and will remain vested in the Jewish state.

The signature of this agreement follows negotiations which were carried on in Israel. Switzerland and the United States in the hope of achieving a friendly settlement of all questions concerning Lutheran church properties in Israel.
