The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society which recently expanded its activities in Israel by becoming active in the operation of 135 immigrant shelters, today announced the formation of a nine-man Board of Directors for HIAS in Israel. Included among the nine, are prominent government and civic leaders. The Israeli Board will direct the Society’s activities in that country in accordance with the policies set down by world headquarters in New York.
