A proposal that part of the West German Government’s reparations payments to Israel be in the form of goods manufactured in Berlin has been made by Jacob Altmaier, Social Democratic deputy in the Bonn Parliament.

Altmaier offered this proposal as a partial solution for the city’s unemployment problem–300,000 Germans are out of work in West Berlin–and as an “act of justice.”
