Isidore Lipshutz, Jewish leader widely known for his activities on behalf of world peace and democracy, was honored tonight by Yeshiva University at a dinner at the Hotel Plaza, “for his outstanding leadership in the fight against Nazism, in the defense of human rights, and in the furtherance of democracy.”
Mr. Lipshutz, vice-president and treasurer of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League and treasurer of the Society for the Prevention of World War III, was presented with a scroll by Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of Yeshiva University.
Speakers at the dinner included Prof. James H. Sheldon, Professor of Political Science at Boston University; Louis Schleifer, New York hotel realtor, and Rudolf G. Sonneborn, national chairman, United Palestine Appeal, who was chairman of the dinner. Mr. Lipshutz is 1951 chairman of the University’s annual Charter Day Celebration, which will be held Sunday, November 11th at the Hotel Astor.
