The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund will purchase $45,000 worth of clothing from Israel for boys and girls, it was announced here. The clothing will be paid for from Israel’s contribution of $75,000 to UNICEF.

The announcement pointed out that earlier, when foodstuffs were urgently needed in the Palestine area, Italy advanced wheat and rice which were used by Israel, among other countries, until the Fund could repay Italy from subsequent grain shipments assigned by Australia. It also pointed out that Israel is supplying the clothing despite the fact that its own economy is hard pressed because this is the speediest way of getting the sorely needed supplies to Italy.
