The local Association for Christian-Jewish Cooperation has protested the showing here of the British-made film “Oliver Twist” on the grounds that it might create anti-Semitism in Germany.
The president of the German film authority replied to the protest by asserting that after extensive cutting the film was permitted to be shown in Western Germany for three months without arousing either demonstrations or “anti-Semitic or pro-Semitic reactions. “
