A delegation representing five British Jewish organizations yesterday visited Anthony Nutting, Parliamentary Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and informed him of the decisions taken at the recent conference of Jewish organizations held in New York in connection with Jewish claims against Germany. The delegation urged British support for these, as well as Israel’s claims against Germany.
Mr. Nutting promised his government’s sympathetic consideration of the requests and expressed a willingness to be kept informed on further developments. The delegation consisted of representatives of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Anglo-Jewish Association, British section of the World Jewish Congress, Agudas Israel and the Council for the Protection of Rights and Interests of German Jews.
The Jewish Representative Council in Glasgow decided to hold a mass protest meeting against the resurgence of Nazism in Western Germany, it was reported here today. The decision was taken following a report that the Jewish community in London was said to be divided on the issue.
