The Jewish War Veterans here today dropped its plan to post 24-hour guards around all synagogues in order to prevent further terrorism on the part of anti-Semitic elements.

The decision to drop this plan was taken in compliance with the views of local rabbis and Jewish community leaders who maintained the protection of the houses of worship must come from the local authorities and not from Jewish groups.

Investigation on the part of the local and Federal authorities into the dynamiting of the synagogues in Miami and Coral Gables continued today. Participating in the investigation are the local police, F. B. I., postal inspectors and officials from the Governor’s office and from the office of the state’s Attorney General.
