An urgent plea for emergency relief for victims of the floods inundating large areas of Israel in the wake of heavy storms was received here today by the Federation of Jewish Relief Societies. The appeal, signed by Dr. J.M. Machover, chairman of the federation, who is now in Israel, and Mrs. Shoshanna Persitz, member of the Israeli Parliament, declared:

“We send this urgent appeal to Anglo-Jewry and we are sure that members of the community will respond with their usual immediate generosity to alleviate unspeakable suffering in the immigrant work camps.”
