Members of the government and of Parliament and labor leaders attended the reception, where Mr. Kahn’s activities in behalf of the Jewish labor movement and in the wartime work of rescuing Jews in the hands of the Nazis were lauded.
In reply, Mr. Kahn praised the achievements of the new State of Israel and hailed the Histadrut. He declared that the failure of Israel would be the failure of world Jewry, but expressed the certainty that the Jewish State would pull out of it present difficulties. He pledged the support of the American Jewish workers to Israel.
