A call for the organization of the American Jewish community in a single framework comprising various groups and viewpoints but specking in a single voice on main objectives was sounded here today by Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the American Jewish Congress, addressing 700 delegates from 311 lodges attending the 65th annual convention of Brith Abraham.
In an analysis of the problems facing the Jewish community in this country, Dr. Goldstein listed four main tasks: “preserving and protecting the climate of good old-fashioned American liberalism;” deepening of Jewish cultural and spiritual values; support of Israel; and, protection of religious, political and cultural rights of Jewish communities throughout the world.
